Almighty Allah Attributes as per some Authentic hadith, are they contradictory, how can we understand them?

Question:

Some authentic hadiths indicating that God in Islam has 2 right hands and other indicating that has one right hand and one left hand. How can you harmonise or reconciliate between all these, more over other Hadith talking about God in Islam has shin, face?

Here are the following Hadiths.

Chapter and His Throne was on the water.

Narrated Abu Huraira:

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “The Right (Hand) of Allah Is full, and (Its fullness) is not affected by the continuous spending night and day. Do you see what He has spent since He created the Heavens and the Earth? Yet all that has not decreased what is in His Right Hand. His Throne is over the water and in His other Hand is the Bounty or the Power to bring about death, and He raises some people and brings others down.” (See Hadith No. 508)

Chapter: “. To one whom I have created with Both My Hands…”

Narrated Anas:

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “Allah will gather the believers on the Day of Resurrection in the same way (as they are gathered in this life), and they will say, ‘Let us ask someone to intercede for us with our Lord that He may relieve us from this place of ours.’ Then they will go to Adam and say, ‘O Adam! Don’t you see the people (people’s condition)?

Allah created you with His Own Hands and ordered His angels to prostrate before you and taught you the names of all the things. Please intercede for us with our Lord so that He may relieve us from this place of ours.’ Adam will say, ‘I am not fit for this undertaking’ and mention to them the mistakes he had committed, and add, “But you’d better go to Noah as he was the first Apostle sent by Allah to the people of the Earth.

“ They will go to Noah who will reply, ‘I am not fit for this undertaking,’ and mention the mistake which he made, and add, ‘But you’d better go to Abraham, Khalil Ar-Rahman.’

They will go to Abraham who will reply, ‘I am not fit for this undertaking,’ and mention to them the mistakes he made, and add, ‘But you’d better go to Moses, a slave whom Allah gave the Torah and to whom He spoke directly’ They will go to Moses who will reply,

‘I am not fit for this undertaking,’ and mention to them the mistakes he made, and add, ‘You’d better go to Jesus, Allah’s slave and His Apostle and His Word (Be: And it was) and a soul created by Him.

‘ They will go to Jesus who will say, ‘I am not fit for this undertaking, but you’d better go to Muhammad whose sins of the past and the future had been forgiven (by Allah).’ So, they will come to me and I will ask the permission of my Lord, and I will be permitted (to present myself) before Him.

When I see my Lord, I will fall down in (prostration) before Him and He will leave me (in prostration) as long as He wishes, and then it will be said to me, ‘O Muhammad! Raise your head and speak, for you will be listened to; and ask, for you will be granted (your request); and intercede, for your intercession will be accepted.’

I will then raise my head and praise my Lord with certain praises which He has taught me, and then I will intercede. Allah will allow me to intercede (for a certain kind of people) and will fix a limit whom I will admit into Paradise. I will come back again, and when I see my Lord (again), I will fall down in prostration before Him, and He will leave me (in prostration) as long as He wishes, and then He will say, ‘O Muhammad! Raise your head and speak, for you will be listened to; and ask, for you will be granted (your request);

and intercede, for your intercession will be accepted.’ I will then praise my Lord with certain praises which He has taught me, and then I will intercede. Allah will allow me to intercede (for a certain kind of people) and will fix a limit to whom I will admit into Paradise, I will return again, and when I see my Lord, I will fall down (in prostration) and He will leave me (in prostration) as long as He wishes, and then He will say,

‘O Muhammad! Raise your head and speak, for you will be listened to, and ask, for you will be granted (your request); and intercede, for your intercession will be accepted.’ I will then praise my Lord with certain praises which He has taught me, and then I will intercede. Allah will allow me to intercede (for a certain kind of people) and will fix a limit to whom I will admit into Paradise.

I will come back and say, ‘O my Lord! None remains in Hell (Fire) but those whom Qur’an has imprisoned therein and for whom eternity in Hell (Fire) has become inevitable.’ ” The Prophet (Peace be upon him) added, “There will come out of Hell (Fire) everyone who says: ‘La ilaha illal-lah,’ and has in his heart good equal to the weight of a barley grain. Then there will come out of Hell (Fire) everyone who says: ‘ La ilaha illal-lah,’ and has in his heart good equal to the weight of a wheat grain. Then there will come out of Hell (Fire) everyone who says: ‘La ilaha illal-lah,’ and has in his heart good equal to the weight of an atom (or a smallest ant).

Chapter: Virtue of the Judge Who is Just in Passing Judgement

It was narrated from ‘Abdullah bin ‘Amr bin Al-‘As that:

The Prophet [SAW] said: “Those who are just, and fair will be with Allah, Most High, on thrones of light, at the right hand of the Most Merciful, those who are just in their rulings and in their dealings with their families and those of whom they are in charge.” Muhammad (one of the narrators) said in his Hadith: “And both of His hands are right hands.

Answer:

Introduction

First, Islam is Universal message was sent to all mankind unconditionally, that include logical evidence consistent with common sense, which states that Almighty God Allah is one. Various proofs in the Noble Qur’an such as scientific evidence. Starting from these premises, we as Muslims we belief, acknowledge, accept, and trust the authenticity of the Noble Qur’an and authentic hadith as in integral part of the beautiful creed of Islam.

Whatever Almighty Allah describes himself with or attributes something to himself with, we accept, believe, acknowledge and we say we hear and obey. Having shared names of attributes does NOT necessitate an identical nature or even similarity. If we say the Hubble telescope in space can see, hear and record, does that mean it is human or does that mean we are telescopes?

Almighty Allah say in the Noble Qur’an:

“There is not anything like Him (whatsoever), and He is The Ever-Hearing, The Ever-Beholding.” Surah Ash-Shuraa=Chapter the Consultation (41:11)

Almighty Allah in the Noble Qur’an:

“Say: He is Allah, the One and Only; Allah, the Eternal, Absolute; He begetteth not, nor is He begotten; And there is none like unto Him.”

surah Al-Ikhlas= Chapter the Sincerity (114)

For Atheists and Agnostics:

IF you do not believe in the existence of a God or in case, if you were an agnostic, and you are not sure whether there is God or not. For a start we suggest that you need to worry first about resolving how you come to existence, and whether you acknowledge your existence or not.

Theory of evolution has many scientific loopholes and chronically unresolved problems, bad enough for you to live and die without knowing answers to questions like: where did you come from or the wisdom behind your existence and if you have an idea about where are you going to.?

Whatever Almighty Allah describes himself with or attributes something to himself with, we accept, believe, acknowledge and we say we hear and obey. Having shared names of attributes does NOT necessitate an identical nature or even similarity. If we say the Hubble telescope in space can see, hear and record does that mean it is human or does that mean we are telescopes?

For Christians/Jews:

Before explaining the Islamic view, we have to emphasise that there are multiple verses even in the Bible, stating that Almighty God has nothing like him nor can he be seen in this world. Still Christians insist on buying cement bags and making statues for Jesus, Mary and the Holy spirit and worshipping them.

While Christian and Jews ignorantly attack the concept of God in Islam, they purposely fail to acknowledge the utter blasphemous corrupted verses in the Bible that insult God and depict his as a pure human wrestling with Prophet Jacob who he defeated God. That is complete nonsense.

Jacob Wrestles with God

As per the part corrupted Bible, God became human, eats, drinks, walks the streets, sleeps, goes to the toilet and wrestle with one his creations, Prophet Jacob who defeated God, that is absolute nonsense, idolatry and paganism.

22 That night Jacob got up and took his two wives, his two female servants and his eleven sons and crossed the ford of the Jabbok. 23 After he had sent them across the stream, he sent over all his possessions. 24 So Jacob was left alone, and a man wrestled with him till daybreak. 25 When the man saw that he could not overpower him, he touched the socket of Jacob’s hip so that his hip was wrenched as he wrestled with the man. 26 Then the man said, “Let me go, for it is daybreak.”

But Jacob replied, “I will not let you go unless you bless me.”

27 The man asked him, “What is your name?”

“Jacob,” he answered.

28 Then the man said, “Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel, because you have struggled with God and with humans and have overcome.”

29 Jacob said, “Please tell me your name.”

But he replied, “Why do you ask my name?” Then he blessed him there.

30 So Jacob called the place Peniel,] saying, “It is because I saw God face to face, and yet my life was spared.”

31 The sun rose above him as he passed Peniel, and he was limping because of his hip. 32 Therefore to this day the Israelites do not eat the tendon attached to the socket of the hip, because the socket of Jacob’s hip was touched near the tendon.”

Worshipping does not necessarily mean bowing up and down for those statues. Worshipping has more broad meanings such as asking for help, blessing, success, cure etc. Those requests are a form of worship which are to be asked from Almighty only and alone.

Therefore, Islam consider anyone who does such acts to be polytheist=Mushrik in Arabic and this can make such a person out of the fold of Islam. Unless genuinely repenting to Almighty Allah a person would be as explained a polytheist=Mushrik.

If this is the case about a born Muslim person, so you can imagine Islam view about those do not testify that No God, but Almighty Allah and Prophet Muhammed is his last and final messenger, and also considering Prophet Jesus a God or son of God and buying bags of cement to make statues for him, his mum and the holy spirit and asking for their blessings.

Having shared names of attributes does NOT necessitate an identical nature or even similarity. If we say the Hubble telescope in space can see, hear and record, does that mean it is human or does that mean we are telescopes?

The Noble Qur’an is the authentic last, final, and literal word of Almighty God. When Almighty Allah describes himself with any names and attributes it is obligatory upon us Muslims to attribute to Allah the description of having two Hands as stated by the Qur’an and Sunnah texts.

In this regard, Allah (Exalted be He) says:

“The Jews say: “Allah’s hand is tied up.” Be their hands tied up and be they accursed for the (blasphemy) they utter. Nay, both His hands are widely outstretched: He giveth and spendeth (of His bounty) as He pleaseth”

Surah Al-Ma’idah=Chapter the table Spread (5:64)

Also, Almighty Allah in the Noble Qur’an says”

“(Allah) said: “O Iblis! What prevents thee from prostrating thyself to one whom I have created with my hands? Art thou haughty? Or art thou one of the high (and mighty) ones?”

Surah Sad=Chapter the Letter Saad (38:75)

Moreover, there are many Hadiths mentioning Allah’s two Hands, which are widely recognized in the compilations of Ahl-ul-Sunnah wal-Jama`ah (adherents to the Sunnah and the Muslim mainstream). For example, `Abdullah ibn `Amr ibn Al-`As (may Allah be pleased with both) is authentically reported to have reported the Prophet (peace be upon him) as saying:

The just will be with Allah on pulpits of light on the right Hand of the Most Merciful (the Exalted and Glorified), and both His Hands are right – those who are just in their judgment and are fair with their families and those of whom they are in charge.

(Part No. 2; Page No. 375) Ahl-ul-Sunnah wal-Jama`ah’s belief regarding Allah’s Names and Attributes is that they absolutely believe in all those Attributes stated in the Qur’an and those authentically reported from the Prophet (peace

be upon him) without Ta’wil (allegorical interpretation), Tashbih (comparison), Tahrif (distortion of the meaning) or Ta`til (denial). Moreover, they believe that no attribute of imperfection is attributed to Allah (Glorified and Exalted be He).

Below is an explanation of the statement: Both Hand sides of His are right. It is reported by Al-Baghawy from Al-Khattaby (may Allah be merciful with both) that such an Attribute is included under Tawqif (a religious text and not opinion).

Therefore, we understand it in the literal sense without drawing any comparison stopping our minds where the Qur’an and authentically narrated Hadith stop them. Such is the belief of Ahl-ul-Sunnah wal-Jama`ah.

Some scholars are of the view that “and both His Hands are right” means that they are equally meritorious even if one of them is called the left Hand as stated in the Hadith recorded on the authority of Ibn `Umar in Sahih Muslim. May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.

Whatever Almighty Allah describes himself with or attributes something to himself with, we accept, believe, acknowledge and we say we hear and obey.
