Allah, the Exalted, has described Himself in His Book Quran, and by the tongue of His Messenger Peace be upon Him.
“And verily, your Rabb Lord is Allah who created the heavens and earth in six days and then established Himself above the Throneโ.
[Al-Quran 7:54]
And The Messenger of Allah peace be upon him Said: โWhen Allah completed the creation, He wrote in His Book which is with Him on His Throne, “My Mercy overpowers My Anger.”[Sahih al-Bukhari 3194 & Agreed Upon]
View of the Four Renowned Imams about Where is Allah. (Above His Throne)
Imam Abu Hanifa (may Allah be pleased with him):
Abu Muti Al-Balkhi (may Allah be pleased with him) reported:
โI asked Imam Abu Hanifa (Rahimullah) about a person who says, โI do not know whether by Rabb is, above the Heavens or on Earth?โ Abu Hanifa (Rahimullah) replied: โA person who makes such as statement, BECOMES AN APOSTATE, because Allah, The Exalted, says:
โThe Merciful has ascended above the Arsh (Throne), and the Arsh=Throne of Allah (exalted He) is above the Heavens.โโ I further asked Imaa Abu Hanifa (Rahimullah), โWhat if such a person admits, Allah is above His Arsh, but exclaims, I do not know whether His Arsh=Throne is above the heavens or on earth’. Imam Abu Hanifah (Rahimullah) responded: ‘If he denies that the Arsh=Throne is above the heavens, he is an apostate.” (Sharhut-Tahawiyyah, p.288).
Imam Malik Ibn Anas (may Allah be pleased with him)
Abdullah ibn Nafi’ reported: Malik Ibn Anas (Rahimullah) said: “Allah is above the heavens, but His knowledge encompasses everything. Nothing escapes His knowledge.” [Abdullah Ibn Ahmad, As-Sunnah, and others]
Imam Ash-Shafi’i (may Allah be pleased with him)
Imam Ash-Shafi’i (may Allah be pleased with him) said: โThe creed which I hold is the same creed the Muslims before me were holding, namely, the Testimony of Faith: “There is no god worthy of being worshipped except Allah, that Muhammed is the Messenger of Allah, and that Allah is above His ‘Arsh=throne, above the heavens. He descends to the lowest heaven whenever He wishes.” [Al-Juyush al-Islamiyyah, Ibn Al-Qayyim, p. 93]
Imam Ibn Khuzaymah (Rahimullah), a Shafiโi himself, said: “Whoever dis acknowledges that Allah is above His ‘Arsh=throne, above His seven heavens, and that He is separated from His creatures, is a Kafir, (unbeliever). Such person must be ordered to repent and disavow his belief, or else he must be beheaded and thrown on a garbage dump so that neither Ahlul-Qiblah[13] nor Ahludh-Dhimmah[14] be annoyed by the foul odor of his carcass.” [
Ibid] Abu Bakr Muhammad at-Tamimi, a Shafi’ite Imam of Naisabur, said: “I do not pray behind a person who denies the attributes of Allah and does not recognize that Allah is above His ‘Arsh.” [Ibid]
Imam Ahmad Ibn Hanbal (may Allah be pleased with him)
He was asked: “Is Allah above His Arsh, above the seventh heaven, separate from His creatures, and is His knowledge and power encompassing everything everywhere?” He replied: “Certainly, He is above His ‘Arsh and nothing escapes His knowledge.” [Al-Juyush al-Islamiyyah, Ibn Al-Qayyim, p. 123]
He (may Allah be pleased with him) also said: โWe believe that Allah is above His Throne however He wishes and in whatever way He wishes, without any specific way or a description that a person can understand or describe. Knowledge of the Attributes of Allah has come from Him, and they are established for Him (as His true Attributes). He is as He described Himself: โNo vision can grasp Him.โ [6:103]โ [Darโut Taโaarudul โAql Wan Naql, by Ibn Taymiyyah, 2/30]

Alee Ibn al-Hasan Ibn ash-Shaqeeq (Rahimullah) said, โI said to โAbdullaah Ibn al-Mubaarak (Rahimullah)[Great Scholar, One of the best students of Imam Abu Hanifa (Rahimullah)] (d. 181), โHow are we to know our Lord?โ
He (โAbdullaah Ibn al-Mubaarak) replied: โHe is above the seventh Heaven, above His Throne, and we do not say as the Jahmiyyah say, โHe is here upon the earthโ.โ
[Ar-Radd โAlal Mareesee, of ad-Daarimee, p. 24. And Ar-Radd โAlal Jahmiyyah, p. 50]
Qutayba Ibn Saโid (may Allah be pleased with him) said:
โThis is the view of the Ulama (scholars) in Islam, and the Sunnah and the Jammah= adherents to the Sunnah and the community = Vast majority of Muslim Scholars and its adherents confirm this that our Lord is above the seventh heaven, above is throne.
Just as He says:
โThe Most Merciful Who is Above the Throne Established.โ-Quran (20:1) [Al-Uwloo by Adh-Habee, Page 128)

Arrogance is not only a sign of insecurity, but also a sign of immaturity. Mature and fully realised persons can get their points across, even emphatically without demeaning or intimidating others.
