3-  Conclusion.

1-  Inheritance in Islam:

In Islam, the male inherits double the female, because the man is legally responsible for his parents, wife, children, divorcee (for a period of time), sisters (single or widowed), and his aunts.  He can be sued in court by any of these people if he neglects them, and the court would enforce payments upon him to them.  The following Noble Verses provide the evidence for this:

Noble Verse(s) 4:34
Yusuf Ali:[004:034]  Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because God has given the one more (strength) than the other, and because they support them from their means. Therefore the righteous women are devoutly obedient, and guard in (the husband’s) absence what God would have them guard.

As to those women on whose part ye fear disloyalty and ill-conduct, admonish them (first), (Next), refuse to share their beds, (And last) beat them (lightly); but if they return to obedience, seek not against them Means (of annoyance): For God is Most High, great (above you all).Arabic (from right to left):

Where in the entire Bible is wife-beating forbidden?  Jesus himself witnessed it and never once denounced it.

Noble Verse(s) 4:11-4:12
Yusuf Ali:[004:011]  God (thus) directs you as regards your Children’s (Inheritance): to the male, a portion equal to that of two females: if only daughters, two or more, their share is two-thirds of the inheritance; if only one, her share is a half. For parents, a sixth share of the inheritance to each, if the deceased left children;

if no children, and the parents are the (only) heirs, the mother has a third; if the deceased Left brothers (or sisters) the mother has a sixth. (The distribution in all cases Is) after the payment of legacies and debts. Ye know not whether your parents or your children are nearest to you in benefit.

These are settled portions ordained by God; and God is All-knowing, Al- wise.[004:012]  In what your wives leave, your share is a half, if they leave no child; but if they leave a child, ye get a fourth; after payment of legacies and debts.

In what ye leave, their (the widow) share is a fourth, if ye leave no child; but if ye leave a child, they get an eighth; after payment of legacies and debts. If the man or woman whose inheritance is in question, has left neither ascendants nor descendants, but has left a brother or a sister, each one of the two gets a sixth; but if more than two, they share in a third; after payment of legacies and debts; so that no loss is caused (to any one). Thus is it ordained by God; and God is All-knowing, Most Forbearing.Arabic (from right to left):

Notice here how the parents of the deceased, his wife and children all inherit.

2-  Inheritance in the Bibles:

The Bible is clear about if sons exist, then the daughters inherit nothing:

Numbers 27
8 “Say to the Israelites, ‘If a man dies and leaves no son, turn his inheritance over to his daughter.
If he has no daughter, give his inheritance to his brothers.
10 If he has no brothers, give his inheritance to his father’s brothers.
11 If his father had no brothers, give his inheritance to the nearest relative in his clan, that he may possess it. This is to be a legal requirement for the Israelites, as the LORD commanded Moses.’ “

Notice how the wife (widow) inherits nothing.  And notice how the daughter only inherits when no sons exist.  Also, the oldest son inherits double the younger son:

Deuteronomy 21
15 If a man has two wives, and he loves one but not the other, and both bear him sons but the firstborn is the son of the wife he does not love,
16 when he wills his property to his sons, he must not give the rights of the firstborn to the son of the wife he loves in preference to his actual firstborn, the son of the wife he does not love.
17 He must acknowledge the son of his unloved wife as the firstborn by giving him a double share of all he has. That son is the first sign of his father’s strength. The right of the firstborn belongs to him.

Jewish Laws of Inheritance

The inheritance is patrilineal. The father โ€”that is, the owner of the landโ€” bequeaths only to his male descendants, so the Promised Land passes from one Jewish father to his sons.

If there were no living sons and no descendants of any previously living sons, daughters could inherit. In Numbers 27:1-4, the daughters of Zelophehad (Mahlah, Noa, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah) of the tribe of Manasseh come to Moses and ask for their father’s inheritance, as they have no brothers.

The order of inheritance is set out in Numbers 27:7-11: a man’s sons inherit first, daughters if no sons, brothers if he has no children, and so on.

Later, in Numbers 36, some of the heads of the families of the tribe of Manasseh come to Moses and point out that, if a daughter inherits and then marries a man not from her paternal tribe, her land will pass from her birth-tribe’s inheritance into her marriage-tribe’s.

So a further rule is laid down: if a daughter inherits land, she must marry someone within her father’s tribe. (The daughters of Zelophehad marry the sons’ of their father’s brothers. There is no indication that this was not their choice.)

The tractate Baba Bathra, written during late Antiquity in Babylon, deals extensively with issues of property ownership and inheritance according to Jewish Law. Other works of Rabbinical Law, such as the Hilkhot naแธฅalot : mi-sefer Mishneh Torah leha-Rambam,[3] and the Sefer ha-yerushot: สปim yeter ha-mikhtavim be-divre ha-halakhah be-สปAravit uve-สปIvrit uve-Aramit[4] also deal with inheritance issues. The first, often abbreviated to Mishneh Torah, was written by Maimonides and was very important in Jewish tradition.

All these sources agree that the firstborn son is entitled to a double portion of his father’s estate: Deuteronomy 21:17. This means that, for example, if a father left five sons, the firstborn receives a third of the estate and each of the other four receives a sixth. If he left nine sons, the firstborn receives a fifth and each of the other eight receive a tenth.[3][5] If the eldest surviving son is not the firstborn son, he is not entitled to the double portion.

Philo of Alexandria[6] and Josephus[7] also comment on the Jewish laws of inheritance, praising them above other law codes of their time. They also agreed that the firstborn son must receive a double portion of his father’s estate.

Science: GENETICALLY, women are less interested in math, problem solving and engineering than men.

Although physiologically speaking, men are not smarter than women, but genetically speaking, it’s been scientifically proven that women have LESSER INTEREST than men in mathematics, problem solving and engineering.

Also, women in primitive societies were much more involved in raising children, cooking, milking, harvesting, and taking care of the family. Men were primarily more involved in trading, commerce, financial transactions, defense and all of the other physical jobs, such as metal smith, harvesting, carpentry, and other jobs.

Allah Almighty Said in the Glorious Quran:

“O ye who believe! When ye deal with each other, in transactions involving future obligations in a fixed period of time, reduce them to writing; let a scribe write down faithfully as between the parties: let not the scribe refuse to write: as God Has taught him, so let him write. Let him who incurs the liability dictate, but let him fear His Lord God, and not diminish aught of what he owes.

If they party liable is mentally deficient, or weak, or unable Himself to dictate, let his guardian dictate faithfully, and get two witnesses, out of your own men, and if there are not two men, then a man and two women, such as ye choose, for witnesses, so that if one of them errs, the other can remind her….”  (The Noble Quran, 2:282)

Equality between men and women in the Noble Quran

some verses in the Holy Qur’an

That mention one thing is equal to another,  i.e. men are equal to women.

Although this makes sense grammatically, the astonishing fact is that the number of times the word man appears in the Holy Qur’an
is 24 and number of times the word woman appears is also 24, therefore not only is this phrase correct in the grammatical sense but also true mathematically, i.e. 24 = 24.

Upon further analysis of various verses, he discovered that this is consistent throughout the whole Holy Qur’an where it says one thing is like another.

See below for astonishing result of the words mentioned number of times in Arabic in the Holy Qur’an

Dunia (one name for life) 115.

Aakhirat (one name for the life after this world) 115

Malaika (Angels) 88 . Shayteen (Satan) 88

Life 145 …… Death 145

And amazingly enough have a look how many times the following words appear:

Salat 5, Month 12, Day 365,

Sea 32, Land 13

Sea + land = 32+13= 45

Sea = 32/45*100q.=71.11111111%

Land = 13/45*100 = 28.88888889%

Sea + land 100.00%

Modern science has only recently proven that the water covers 71.111% of the earth, while the land covers 28.889%.

Is this a coincidence? Question is that

Who taught Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) all this?

Reply automatically comes in mind that ALMIGHTY ALLAH taught him.

This as the Holy Qur’an also tells us this. Please pass this on to all your friends

Aayah 87 of Suraa (Chapter) Al-Anbia ! para 17:

Is there equality between men and women in Islam?

Yes there is, and that is a spiritual equality and not an Earthly Physical one; meaning that the equality between men and women in Islam is determined by their belief and righteous work, but their roles and responsibilities in life are different because of their physical and emotional differences.

Let us read what Allah Almighty Said in His Holy Book, the Noble Quran:

Allah Almighty ordered men in the Noble Quran to take care of women and to protect them; “Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allah has given the one more (strength) than the other, and because they support them from their means. Therefore the righteous women are devoutly obedient, and guard in (the husband’s) absence what Allah would have them guard.  (The Noble Quran 4:34)”

Allah Almighty also ordered men in the Noble Quran to love and respect their wives; “O ye who believe! Ye are forbidden to inherit women against their will. Nor should ye treat them with harshness, that ye may take away part of the dower [money given by the husband to the wife for the marriage contract] ye have given them, except where they have been guilty of open lewdness; on the contrary live with them on a footing of kindness and equity. If ye take a dislike to them it may be that ye dislike a thing, and God brings about through it a great deal of good.  (The Noble Quran, 4:19)”

Allah Almighty equalizes between men and women; “To Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. He creates what He wills. He bestows female children to whomever He wills and bestows male children to whomever He wills.    (The Noble Quran, 42:49)”

Allah Almighty equalizes between men and women in good deeds; “If any do deeds of righteousness be they male or female and have faith, they will enter Heaven, and not the least injustice will be done to them. (The Noble Quran, 4:124)”

Allah Almighty further equalizes between men and women; “For Muslim men and women,- for believing men and women, for devout men and women, for true men and women, for men and women who are patient and constant, for men and women who humble themselves, for men and women who give in Charity, for men and women who fast (and deny themselves), for men and women who guard their chastity, and for men and women who engage much in God’s praise,- for them has God prepared forgiveness and great reward.  (The Noble Quran, 33:35)”

Righteousness determines the value of humans in Allah Almighty’s sight.  It is not their gender or race: “O mankind! We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that ye may know each other.  Verily the most honoured of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you.  And Allah has full knowledge and is well-acquainted.  (The Noble Quran, 49:13)”

Women’s Rights in Islam

Following are some rights, which Muslim women have!

1. The RIGHT and duty to acquire education.

2. The RIGHT to have her own independent property.

3. The RIGHT to work [job or business] to earn money, which she keeps it.

4. The RIGHT to equal reward for equal deed and/or work.

5. The RIGHT to express her opinion.

6. The RIGHT to argue and/or advocate her cause or opinion to be heard.

7. The RIGHT to vote since 1,421 years.

8. The RIGHT to provisions from her husband for all her needs and more.

9. The RIGHT to negotiate marriage terms of her choice.

10.The RIGHT to obtain divorce from her husband, even on the grounds that she simply don’t like him. In Islaam divorce is suppose to be last resort.

11.The RIGHT to keep all her own money. [She is not responsible for maintenance of family].

12.The RIGHT to get sexual satisfaction from her husband.

13.The RIGHT to get custody of her children in case of divorce [unless she is unable to raise them for valid reasons]

14.The RIGHT to choose husband of her choice.

15.The RIGHT to refuse a proposed and/or arranged marriage.

16. The RIGHT to re-marry after divorce or after becoming widow.

EXEMPTIONS GIVEN TO WOMEN IN CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCE.

Women are exempt from:

a.. Fasting when they are pregnant or nursing or menstruating,
b.. Praying when menstruating or bleeding after childbirth,
c.. The obligation to attend congregational prayers in the mosque on Fridays.
d.. They are not obliged to take part as soldiers in the defense of Islam, although they are not forbidden to do so.
But under normal circumstances they are allowed to do all the things that men do.

– Even when they are menstruating, on special days, like the two Eid festivals, they are still allowed to come to the Eid prayers, and menstruating women can take part in most of the actions of the Hajj pilgrimage.

Islamic laws does not requires that women should confine themselves to household duties.

Muslim women have [and are as well] headed Islamic provinces [and states as well], like Arwa bint Ahmad, who served as governor of Yemen under the Fatimid Khalifahs in the late fifth and early sixth century.

Name any other religion, political theory, or philosophy which offers such a comprehensiveness to women by giving her total control of her life and affairs ??? NONE

The Bible does not prefer for women to be born, but Islam does:

Before we start, it is important for the reader to know that the entire Bible had been corrupted and is filled with man’s alterations as clearly shown in the introduction above. Contradictions in The Bible

Let us look at what the Bible and the Noble Quran say about females and their birth in general:

In the Bibles:

New born baby girls cause double the pollution to the mother than the new born baby boys:

“Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a woman have conceived seed, and born a MALE child: then she shall be unclean SEVEN DAYS; according to the days of the separation for her infirmity shall she be unclean. And in the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised.

And she shall then continue in the blood of her purifying THIRTY THREE days; she shall touch no hallowed thing, nor come into the sanctuary, until the days of her purifying be fulfilled. But if she bear a FEMALE child, then she shall be unclean TWO WEEKS, as in her separation: and she shall continue in the blood of her purifying SIXTY SIX days.  (From the NIV Bible, Leviticus 12:2-5)”

3-  Conclusion:

It is quite clear that in Islam, the the man is responsible for the women of his immediate family.  Also, the parents of the deceased, his wife and children all inherit.

In the Bible, on the other hand, the widow and the deceased parents inherit nothing as long as children exist.  And if sons exist, then daughters inherit nothing.  And the oldest son gets double the younger son.

How do Islam and the Bible treat women who are having their menses?

In Islam:

Men must not have sexual intercourse with their wives when their wives are having their monthly periods (their menses), because it is a hurt for the woman and a pollution for both the man’s and the woman’s genitals, which is unhealthy:

“They ask thee concerning women’s courses. Say: They are a hurt and a pollution:  So keep away from women in their courses, and do not approach them until they are clean.  But when they have purified themselves, ye may approach them in any manner, time, or place ordained for you by God.  For God loves those who turn to Him constantly and He loves those who keep themselves pure and clean.  (The Noble Quran, 2:222)”

The explanation of this Noble Verse is in the following Saying (Hadith) of our beloved Prophet:

Thabit narrated it from Anas:  “Among the Jews, when a woman menstruated, they did not dine with her, nor did they live with them in their houses; so the Companions of the Apostle (may peace be upon him) asked The Apostle (may peace be upon him), and Allah, the Exalted revealed:” And they ask you about menstruation; say it is a pollution, so keep away from woman during menstruation” to the end (Qur’an, ii. 222). The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said:

Do everything except intercourse. The Jews heard of that and said: This man does not want to leave anything we do without opposing us in it. Usaid b. Hudair and Abbad b. Bishr came and said: Messenger of Allah, the Jews say such and such thing. We should not have, therefore, any contact with them (as the Jews do).

The face of the Messenger of Allah (way peace be upon him) underwent such a change that we thought he was angry with them, but when they went out, they happened to receive a gift of milk which was sent to the Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him).

He (the Holy Prophet) called for them and gave them drink, whereby they knew that he was not angry with them.  (Translation of Sahih Muslim, The Book of Menstruation (Kitab Al-Haid), Book 003, Number 0592)”

The Muslim men can still be loving and be near their wives and touch them too when their wives are having their monthly periods:

Narrated ‘Aisha:  “The Prophet used to recite the Quran with his head in my lap while I used to be in my periods (having menses).  (Translation of Sahih Bukhari, ONENESS, UNIQUENESS OF ALLAH (TAWHEED), Volume 9, Book 93, Number 639)”

‘Aisha reported:  “The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) would recline in my lap when I was menstruating, and recite the Qur’an.  (Translation of Sahih Muslim, The Book of Menstruation (Kitab Al-Haid), Book 003, Number 0591)”

Maimuna (the wife of the Holy Prophet) reported:  “The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) contacted and embraced his wives over the waist-wrapper when they were menstruating.  (Translation of Sahih Muslim, The Book of Menstruation (Kitab Al-Haid), Book 003, Number 0579)”

‘A’isha reported:  “When anyone amongst us (amongst the wives of the Holy Prophet) menstruated, the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) asked her to tie a waist-wrapper over her (body) and then embraced her.  (Translation of Sahih Muslim, The Book of Menstruation (Kitab Al-Haid), Book 003, Number 0577)”

Kuraibthe freed slave of Ibn Abbas, reported:  “I heard it from Maimuna, the wife of the Apostle of Allah (way peace be upon him):  The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) used to lie with me when I menstruated, and there was a cloth between me and him.  (Translation of Sahih Muslim, The Book of Menstruation (Kitab Al-Haid), Book 003, Number 0580)”

Umm Salama (one of our Prophet’s wives) reported:  “While I was lying with the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) in a bed cover I menstruated, so I slipped away and I took up the clothes (which I wore) in menses.   Upon this the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said:  Have you menstruated? I said:  Yes. He called me and I lay down.  (Translation of Sahih Muslim, The Book of Menstruation (Kitab Al-Haid), Book 003, Number 0581)”

It is reported from ‘A’isha that she observed:  “When the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) was in I’tikaf, he inclined his head towards me and I combed his hair, and he did not enter the house but for the natural calls (for relieving himself).  (Translation of Sahih Muslim, The Book of Menstruation (Kitab Al-Haid), Book 003, Number 0582)”

‘A’isha, the wife of the Apostle (may peace he upon him), reported:  “The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) put out from the mosque his head for me as he was in I’tikaf, and I washed it in the state that I was menstruating.  (Translation of Sahih Muslim, The Book of Menstruation (Kitab Al-Haid), Book 003, Number 0584)”

Al-Aswad narrated it from ‘A’isha that she observed:  “I used to wash the head of the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him), while I was in a state of menstruation.  (Translation of Sahih Muslim, The Book of Menstruation (Kitab Al-Haid), Book 003, Number 0586)”

‘A’isha reported:  “The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said to me:  Get me the mat from the mosque.  I said: I am menstruating.  Upon this he remarked:  Your menstruation is not in your hand.   (Translation of Sahih Muslim, The Book of Menstruation (Kitab Al-Haid), Book 003, Number 0587)”

Abu Huraira reported:  “While the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) was in the mosque, he said:  O ‘A’isha, get me that garment.   She said: I am menstruating.  Upon this he remarked: Your menstruation is not in your hand, and she, therefore, got him that.  (Translation of Sahih Muslim, The Book of Menstruation (Kitab Al-Haid), Book 003, Number 0589)”

‘A’isha reported:  “I would drink when I was menstruating, then I would hand it (the vessel) to the Apostle (may peace be upon him) and he would put his mouth where mine had been, and drink, and I would eat flesh from a bone when I was menstruating, then hand it over to the Apostle (may peace be upon him) and he would put his mouth where mine had been. Zuhair made no mention of (the Holy Prophet’s) drinking.  (Translation of Sahih Muslim, The Book of Menstruation (Kitab Al-Haid), Book 003, Number 0590)”

If Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him recited the Noble Quran while his head was on the lap of any of his wives who was having her monthly period, and he would eat from the same plate any of them ate from while she had her menses, and he would even allow for any of them to bring a mat that belongs to the Mosque (a spiritually purified place) while she was having her menses, then this means that women who have their monthly periods in Islam are not considered filthy and unclean to a point where anything they touch becomes unclean as the Bible clearly states it.

A rebuttal:

Some untruthful members of the Christian “Answering Islam” team tried to suggest that Allah Almighty called women who are having their menses a “pollution” in the Noble Quran.  They obviously don’t know English grammar.   Let’s look at the Noble Verse once again:

“They ask thee concerning women’s courses. Say: They are a hurt and a pollution…..(The Noble Quran, 2:222)”

Let’s look at it from a simpler grammar:

“They ask thee concerning THE COURSES OF WOMEN. Say: THESE COURSES are a hurt and a pollution…..(The Noble Quran, 2:222)”

Where in the Noble Quran do you see Allah Almighty calling women a “pollution”?!

“….So keep away from women in their courses, and do not approach them until they are clean.  But when they have purified themselves, ye may approach them in any manner, time, or place ordained for you by God.  For God loves those who turn to Him constantly and He loves those who keep themselves pure and clean.  (The Noble Quran, 2:222)”

Allah Almighty here commands us to stay away from our women who are having their menses SEXUALLY (i.e., having sexual intercourse with them).  But we can still be physically around them and act normally with them.  This is confirmed in the several above narrations about our beloved Prophet peace be upon him when he used to PHYSICALLY TOUCH his wives while they were having their menses by laying his head on their laps and reciting the Noble Quran.

The following Saying from our beloved Prophet peace be upon him further proves the point and directly explains Noble Verse 2:222 above:

Thabit narrated it from Anas:  “Among the Jews, when a woman menstruated, they did not dine with her, nor did they live with them in their houses; so the Companions of the Apostle (may peace be upon him) asked The Apostle (may peace be upon him), and Allah, the Exalted revealed:” And they ask you about menstruation; say it is a pollution, so keep away from woman during menstruation” to the end (Qur’an, ii. 222). The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: Do everything except intercourse.

So women in Islam do not pollute or cause anything to be unclean if they touch it while they are having their menses.

The Bible as shown in the section below on the other hand, does consider women unclean and they would cause anything and everything they touch to be unclean.

In the Bible:

And if a woman have an issue (her period/menses), [and] her issue in her flesh be blood, she shall be put apart seven days: and whosoever toucheth her shall be unclean until the even. And every thing that she lieth upon in her separation shall be unclean: every thing also that she sitteth upon shall be unclean. And whosoever toucheth her bed shall wash his clothes, and bathe [himself] in water, and be unclean until the even. And whosoever toucheth any thing that she sat upon shall wash his clothes, and bathe [himself] in water, and be unclean until the even. And if it [be] on [her] bed, or on any thing whereon she sitteth, when he toucheth it, he shall be unclean until the even.

And if any man lie with her at all, and her flowers be upon him, he shall be unclean seven days; and all the bed whereon he lieth shall be unclean. And if a woman have an issue of her blood many days out of the time of her separation, or if it run beyond the time of her separation; all the days of the issue of her uncleanness shall be as the days of her separation: she [shall be] unclean.

Every bed whereon she lieth all the days of her issue shall be unto her as the bed of her separation: and whatsoever she sitteth upon shall be unclean, as the uncleanness of her separation. And whosoever toucheth those things shall be unclean, and shall wash his clothes, and bathe [himself] in water, and be unclean until the even. But if she be cleansed of her issue, then she shall number to herself seven days, and after that she shall be clean.

And on the eighth day she shall take unto her two turtles, or two young pigeons, and bring them unto the priest, to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. And the priest shall offer the one [for] a sin offering, and the other [for] a burnt offering; and the priest shall make an atonement for her before the LORD for the issue of her uncleanness.  (From the King James Version Bible, Leviticus 15:19-30)”

Women become unclean when they are having their menses which is normal, but everything they touch also becomes unclean.  The husbands are ordered to stay away from their “unclean” wives until the wives become clean.  Even objects like the bed or the chairs or anything else that the “unclean” wives come in contact with become unclean.  The Bible treats the women who are having their menses as a disease that men must stay away from.

I still don’t understand from a physiological point of view how giving birth to females caused double the pollution than giving birth to males?

Anyway, Jesus taught Christians to follow the laws of the Old Testament that have not been modified or replaced by newer ones in the New Testament.

Conclusion:

Islam honors women far more than the Bible in this issue.  Islam and the Bible both agree that men must not have sex with their wives who are having their menses.   Islam, however, allows for men to be near their wives and to love them and care for them, while the Bible orders it’s male followers (Jews and Christians) to stay away from their wives and to not even come near them.

In the Bible, anything the woman touches while having her menses becomes unclean, while this is not the case in Islam, because our Prophet peace be upon him used to recite the Noble Quran with his head on his wife’s lap while she was having her menses.  The Bible treats the women who are having their menses as a disease that men must stay away from, while the Islam still keeps it’s honor and respect to them.  The Bible is also corrupted and doubtful according to its Theologians and Historians.
