The Highest rank of our Beloved Prophet Muhammed peace be upon him IS SLAVE and SERVANT of Allah. There is NO deity worthy of worship except Allah and Prophet Muhammed is his LAST MESSENGER. Yes, they can be in ONE SENTENCE as it clearly states that Prophet Muhammed IS MESSENGER and NOT God or son of God.
However, Allah Exalted He in The Glorious Holy Quran has stated that we MUST follow his final and last messenger = Prophet Muhammed peace be upon him.
Allah Exalted He says in the meaning of the Quran (2:151):
โSince We have sent you a messenger from among yourselvesโreciting to you Our revelations, purifying you, teaching you the Book and wisdom, and teaching you what you never knewโโ
The wisdom here is The Authentic Hadith and Sunnah in general.
And Quran (3:164)
โIndeed, Allah has done the believers a หนgreatหบ favour by raising a messenger from among themโreciting to them His revelations, purifying them, and teaching them the Book and wisdom. For indeed they had previously been clearly astray.โ
Again, the wisdom=The Authentic Sunnah and Hadith as you can see follow the Book= The Glorious Quran
And Quran (62:2) again wisdom is additional to the Book=The Glorious Quran as you can see:
He is the One Who raised for the illiterate หนpeopleหบ a messenger from among themselvesโreciting to them His revelations, purifying them, and teaching them the Book and wisdom, for indeed they had previously been clearly astrayโ

Ahmad, Aboo Daawood, and al-Haakim have all collected an authentic isnaad the narration of Miqdaam Ibn Maโdeekarib, who reported that the Messenger of Allaah (sal-Allaahu โalayhi wa sallam) said:
ยซIndeed, I have been given the Book [the Qurโaan] and the likes of it along with it. Indeed, there will certainly come a time in which there will be a man whose belly is full reclining on his raised couch saying, โOnly adhere to this Qurโaan, whatever you find therein that is lawful then deem it to be lawful and whatever you find therein to be unlawful then deem it to be unlawful.โยป
Ibn Abee Raafiโ narrated from his father who reported that the Prophet (sal-Allaahu โalayhi wa sallam) said:
ยซI should not find any of you reclining upon his raised couch and a command or prohibition that I have made comes to him and he replies, โWe donโt know about this! Whatever we find in the Book of Allaah we will follow.โยป
Narrated Hasan Ibn Jaabir: โI heard al-Miqdaam Ibn Maโdeekarib, radiyallaahu โanhu, saying: โThe Messenger of Allaah (sal-Allaahu โalayhi wa sallam) declared several things to be unlawful on the day of the Battle of Khaybar and said:
ยซThere will certainly come the time in which one of you will belie me while reclining upon his raised couch, and a hadeeth that I stated is being narrated to him and he says, โBetween us and you is the Book of Allaah.
So whatever we find therein which is lawful we will deem it to be lawful and whatever we find therein to be unlawful we will deem it to be unlawfulโ. Surely, that which the Messenger of Allaah has declared to be unlawful is the exact same as what Allaah has made unlawful.ยป
The ahaadeeth [pl. of hadeeth] states that the Messenger of Allaah (sal-Allaahu โalayhi wa sallam) used to counsel his companions in his sermons and order those who were present to convey to those who were absent and say:
ยซPerhaps the one who receives the message could comprehend more than the one who actually heard it.ยป, has been reported by mass narration.
Similarly, regarding this affair is the hadeeth that is collected in the two authentic books [of al-Bukhaaree and Muslim] that reads: When the Prophet (sal-Allaahu โalayhi wa sallam) delivered his sermon to the people during the farewell Hajj on the day of โArafah and sacrificial slaughter he said:
ยซLet the one who is present convey to the one who is absent, since the one who is conveyed unto could possibly comprehend better than the one who heard it directly from me.ยป
So if his Sunnah wasnโt a legal proof upon those who hear it and upon those whom it reaches, and if it wouldnโt remain preserved until the Day of Judgment, he would not have commanded that it be delivered and conveyed.
Conversely, with this point we come to know the reality that the Sunnah is a legal proof, by itself, upon those who hear it from his noble mouth, may prayers and peace be upon him, and upon those whom it reaches via the authentic chains of narration.
Al-Bayhaqi has collected the narration of the noble taabiโee [Singular of Taabiโoon], Ayoob as-Sakhtiyaani that reads, โWhen you narrate the Sunnah to a man and he says, โLeave us be with regards to this, instead tell us about the Qurโaanโ, then know for sure that he is misguided.โ
Said, al-Auzaaโiee, may Allaah have mercy on him, โThe Sunnah is in authority over the Qurโaan.โ Meaning that it [the Sunnah] restricts that which is unrestricted in the Qurโaan, and or by laying down rulings that are not mentioned in the Qurโaan, just as Allaah, the Exalted, has stated:
{And We have also sent down unto you the Dhikr that you may explain clearly to men what is sent down to them, and that they may give thought.} [Soorah an-Nahl (16): 44]
And just we have already mentioned the statement of his (sal-Allaahu โalayhi wa sallam):
ยซIndeed, I have been granted the Book and the likes of it along with it.ยป
Al-Bayhaqi has also reported that โAamir ash-Shaโbee, rahimahullaah, said to some people once: โYou have only become destroyed and ruined once you left off the aathar.โ In other words, the authentic ahaadeeth.
