Where was Jonah according to the Quran? Where is the comparison of Jonah and Jesus given in the Quran?
Was Jesus swallowed by a fish? Was Jonah crucified? What was the likeness?
Jonah was swallowed by a fish and spat out alive! Jesus was swallowed by death and spat out Alive! That is the likeness!
Answer:
It is the Bible that claims the sign of Jonah to be the evidence of Jesus being Messiah. It is the biblical prophecy that urges the likeness b/w Jonah, and Jesus Not the Quran It is an incorrect question. So, asking where the Quran says so, is completely invalid.
It is Jesus who said, โNo sign shall be given to you except the sign of Jonahโ Are you afraid of defending the words of Jesus?
Matthew 12:39 โBut he (Jesus) answered and said unto them, an evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:โ
1) Sign of Jonah Matthew 12:40 [40] โFor as Jonas was (I.e., ALIVE during the entire incident) three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so, shall the Son of man be (ALIVE during the entire incident) three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.โ
In the above verse, Jesus gives only ONE sign to prove himself is Christ, and that is the Sign of Jonah. – For this sign to be fulfilled: Jesus needs to remain ALIVE while:
a) being taken down from the cross.
b) being placed in the tomb, iii) in the tomb for 3 days and iv) after coming out of the tomb, JUST AS Jonah remained ALIVE while i) being thrown into the sea
c) being swallowed by the whale, iii) in the whaleโs belly for 3 days & iv) after being vomited out by the whale Otherwise this SIGN remains unfulfilled.
