How to deal with this question when Christians claim Matthew 3:17 as a proof for their belief?

“And lo a voice from heaven, saying, this is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” Matthew 3:17.

Response:

1)    The Bible’s original language is Hebrew and Greek the words used for son and servant are the same, but the Bible translators only translate it as SON while it also means SERVANT. so a brief response to the above verse is, it is a translation that specifies SON, while the original language would also be translated as SERVANT (this translation we Muslims have no issue with).

2)    Moreover, if a Christian still insists that NO, the above verse means Jesus is SON. Then we quote them 100s of other bible verses, which call many other prophets as SON, as well everyone in the Bible is called SON. So does God have one SON or million SONS! If everyone is SON, then why the stress on Jesus being SON? It is a checkmate situation for Christian.

3)    Furthermore, the above verse is not saying that GOD said Jesus is my SON, rather someone heard a voice and thought it is God’s voice and assumed that God is saying Jesus is SON. It is equally possible, the person wrongly heard the voice, or it could be Satan’s voice to deceive, or someone made it up (as the Bible is not fully protected).

Arrogance is not only a sign of insecurity, but also a sign of immaturity. Mature and fully realised persons can get their points across, even emphatically without demeaning or intimidating others.
